I'm a Super Happy Customer. I watch Everything in Owl 3D On Screen Mode via my HTPC connected to a DLP 3D projector set for SBS 3D w/ shudder glasses. Streaming 2D shows & movies; photo slideshows; & Home movies. So Happy! It was a thrill to watch Star Trek "Wrath of Kahn" & 2001:Space Odyssey in Owl 3D!
Looks great, can't wait to try it out.
It would be nice to have a more in-depth explanation of the requirements for different scenarios and why the camera is needed and what ports where the connections need to be made. Didn’t even see a close-up of the back of the unit or where the cables were plugged in, particularly for both an Apple and Windows machine. It would be nice to have access to a PDF manual prior to shipping. Thanks, and looking forward to getting mine.

What do I need to run Shift?
Real-time 2D-to-3D conversion needs an NVIDIA RTX 30 Series or Apple Silicon M1 Pro and above. Playing files that are already in 3D has a lower bar — an NVIDIA GTX 1650 or AMD Radeon RX 570 and above. Shift connects over Mini-HDMI 2.0 or USB-C (DP-Alt Mode).
Do I need special 3D content?
No. Ordinary 2D video, photos and app windows are converted as they play, with nothing to prepare in advance. If you already own 3D files, Shift also plays Full-SBS, Half-SBS and Top-Bottom natively, with no conversion step.
Does it work with Netflix and other streaming services?
Yes, with one adjustment: Netflix requires turning off your browser’s hardware acceleration. YouTube and local video files work as they are.
Can more than one person watch at once?
Shift is a single-viewer display. Eye tracking follows one person’s eyes, and only that person sees the 3D correctly. When more than one face is in view, Shift switches between them smoothly, so handing the view to someone else is easy — but it is not a group screen the way a TV is.
When will my order ship?
Batch 0 shipped on August 20 and is sold out. Batch 1 ships in September 2026. Order by September 5 and your unit ships with Batch 1. Your card is charged at checkout.
What do the warranty and return policy cover?
Every Shift comes with a one-year warranty. Returns are accepted within 14 days of delivery, and U.S. shipping is free.
